The Google ranking updates can play havoc with your websites if you’re not actively trying to constantly improve your sites. Google’s February 2026 Discover Core Update did a major number on some of the top sites on the web. Regardless of how good your content was, if you didn’t have enough High DR backlinks, you could have had most of your webpages completely removed from Google.
If you want to improve your rankings back to their old glory days, you’ll need to start guest posting on other sites. There’s no 2 ways about it.
So, here are some easy ways to help you get those guest posts that don’t require you to cold email strangers…
1. Guest Post Swapping Sites
It took me a bit of digging before finding this option. There are tons of sites that make you pay for guest posts, but very few that allow you to do it for free. This guest posting site lets you earn credits by allowing guest posts to your own site, which you can then use to purchase a spot on another site. It’s guest post swapping in the best sense. If you want to pay, you can, but there’s really no need.
2. Guest Post Freelancers
Instead of paying an agency to find guest post opportunities that will cost you hundreds of dollars, check with freelancers first. They’ve already written for some of the same big sites for these agencies and have a working relationship with them. You can skip the high costs and only pay the freelancers service fee. This comes out substantially cheaper than agencies and you’ll have a variety of options to choose from. Many freelancers that I’ve messaged have had lists of over 100 websites/blogs that they are able to post my articles on.
3. Reach Out on Reddit
There are tons of people in the same boat as you. With a quick look on Reddit, you’ll see others reaching out for guest posts. If you find people in the same niche as you, it’s easy to arrange a solution that works for both of you. Make sure you specify that it’s for a guest post swap or you’ll be inundated with paid options.
Easy Ways to Get Guest Posts
Those are the best, and cheapest, ways that I’ve found to get quality quest posts. A combination of all 3 will lead to the best results as you’ll always have options to continuously share your website with the world. With the new Google updates, it’s also important to stick to the same or similar niche. This will help build authority to your site.
