Dukaan Review: Shopify Alternative Ecommerce Store

Dukaan Review: If you’ve ever opened an ecommerce store or tried your hand at dropshipping, then you’ll know how difficult and expensive it can be to keep it up and running. Platforms like Shopify have made things a lot simpler, but they also have absurdly high monthly fees that deter newcomers from starting their own ecommerce stores.

When you’re testing out a variety of items on your store, trying to find a winning product, months can go by without a sale. During all that time, you’ll be coughing up monthly fees. In this Dukaan review, we’ll take a look at what this tool offers and how it compares to its closest rival – Shopify.

Products

Dukaan allows to easily setup physical products to sell on your store. They are working on adding digital products as well, but there is no timeline on when this feature will be available.

Adding products is extremely simple. If you’ve ever used Shopify, then you’ll notice that it is almost identical. This makes it easy to switch over from Shopify to Dukaan. You can also import products directly from Shopify – if you are migrating to this platform.

You have all the classic features you’d expect to see in a good ecommerce store. You can edit your inventory, shipping and taxes and add variations of products.

Dukaan Review Shopify Alternative

Payments

Dukaan accepts Credit cards via Stripe, PayPal and Cash on Delivery, so you can make sales both internationally and locally.

Orders, site traffic and returning customers are all shown in your Analytics section, so it’s easy to keep track of your business. You can also see which countries bring you the most sales.

The Tools section also has a Invoice template that you can edit on-the-fly to create invoices for customers.

Marketing

Dukaan has a variety of tools that can help with marketing your products. In its Tools section, you’ll find handy editing tools to make business cards, store banners and even WhatsApp Stories. These included editable and non-editable templates.

You can even create QR codes for your store, as well as a whole Android app from directly within Dukaan.

Plugins

There are a number of plugins available to make your ecommerce store work better. There are currently 43 plugins available – with more to be added.

These include things like timers, live chat, popups and email marketing features.

Customization

Dukaan currently has 4 themes available to change the look of your store. Each of these themes look significantly different from each other, and look pretty good in their own right. The team is working on adding lots more themes to this section.

Once you’ve chosen a theme, you can customize it further by editing the background color, adding your own header banner, adding additional sections (testimonials, feature products, brand story, etc.), as well as adding custom fonts.

Dukaan Alternatives

If you’re looking to create an ecommerce store and need a Dukaan alternative, then you might be interested in one of the following.

Selldone – sell physical and digital products
Sellix – sell any kind of digital product or service
ProductDyno – sell digital products, courses and memberships

Dukaan Review: Final Thoughts

Dukaan is a great Shopify alternative. In fact, it seems almost like a clone of its competitor. This is actually a very good thing, as it means that there is almost no learning curve when it comes to using this tool. They do have a lot more features on their roadmap which will differentiate them from Shopify in the future, but I’m quite happy with the current product.

Once they’ve added upsells and digital downloads to their tool, I think they will be a very strong contender for one of the easiest e-commerce stores to setup.

Pricing is also quite reasonable. Their subscription cost is currently 3x cheaper than the current Shopify price – with lots of the same functionality. Yes, of course, Shopify does have a lot more Apps available on their store – giving it extra functionality, but with time I think Dukaan can build itself up to a similar level. Having competition in any space is important to push developers to improve their products, and not become complacent.

Dukaan is currently running a lifetime deal on their software. This means that you only need to pay once to get lifetime access to their tools.
