Netflix Trademarks Space Force Before US: Netflix has trademarked the rights to “Space Force” which is the name of their new comedy starring Steve Carell.

It appears that Netflix has claimed the Space Force name in Australia, Europe, Mexico and “elsewhere” as early as January 2019. The Air Force only owns a pending application for a registration in the US.

Netflix Trademarks Space Force Before US: This shouldn’t be much of an issue in the way of confusing the two – one being a TV comedy, the other being a government organization. However, trademarks do matter when it comes to selling merchandise. The US Armed Forces could find themselves in trouble if they sell clothing branded with the words “Space Force” on them.

At the moment, all seems to be fine between the Air Force and Netflix, but we will see how this develops over time.

Space force has an all-star cast which includes Lisa Kudrow, John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, and of course, Steve Carell. It is a half-hour comedy series that is currently available on Netflix.
