I wasn’t too optimistic about the PS Vita’s release but it’s seems to be doing pretty well for itself. I’m the sort of guy that collects consoles as they come out and just don’t have enough time to get around to playing all the games available. My old PSP is collecting dust on the shelf but had to buy it to play Crisis Core when it was released. And now it’s the PS Vita’s turn to dig into my bank account.
I was very surprised at how much I enjoy playing on my new Vita. Any console or PC gamer knows that nothing can beat playing on a big screen TV but I’ve come to enjoy my little portable device a lot more than I expected.
There were 25 launch titles released with the Vita but the library is rapidly expanding. Lots of people on forums have been complaining about the shortage of FPS games on Vita. I jump between my PC and consoles for a variety of games but I can understand what it’s like to buy a new console and not have a variety of games to choose from in your favorite genre.
The first 2 FPS games released on the Vita were Black Ops: Declassified and Resistance Burning Skies – which were both terrible games and not worthy of any top gaming list.
Best Released Games:
Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath
This games was originally released on the first Xbox with an enhanced HD remake released later for PC and PS3. It’s now come to the PS Vita and if you haven’t played it yet, this is a spectacularly fun game to get into. It’s a bit of mixed bag when it comes to classification but it does have First Person Shooting and it’s implemented pretty well.
So as game developers continue adding more and more content on the market, let’s take a look at some of the upcoming PS Vita FPS games that are still to be released.
This is one games I’m really excited for. I’ve played the first 2 games and am waiting impatiently for Bioshock Infinite to be released and I’m hoping that Bioshock on the PS Vita is going to have the same feel and awesomeness that made the first 2 games such huge hits. Bioshock has been delayed until March but the first game was delayed as well to polish it up a bit so I’m sure that the final product is going to be nothing short of fantastic.
The Killzone series has been spectacular so far. I enjoyed the story of Killzone 2 and 3 immensely and was left rather sad when I’d completed the campaign and had to wait and hope for a sequel. Luckily, Killzone: Mercenary is set to be release on the Vita. I only hope that they use the slightly more strategic multiplayer from Killzone 2 as opposed to the more COD-like Killzone 3.
At the moment, these are the only games that I can recommend but there are some rumors of some new PS Vita FPS Games and I’m waiting to see if they pan out.
